Spillers is on the Move


Spillers Records have found new premises after months of speculation and worry that they might be closed for good. The world's oldest record shop has found new premises in Morgan Arcade and will be open for business in the near future. The current premises, where they have been situated for 60 years, will close it's doors for the last time this Saturday 26th June.

Green Man Sells Out


If you were dithering about going to this year's Green Man Festival we have bad news for you - it has just sold out. The festival takes place 20th - 22nd August and features Doves, Johnny Flynn and Welsh artists such as Islet.

Book Early for Earle


Steve Earle will be playing a rare Welsh date 7th September at St David's Hall in Cardiff. Earle has had a long career and is perhaps best known for his radio friendly song "Copperhead Road". Most recently he won a Grammy in 2009 for his album 'Townes' which played tribute to his late friend Townes van Zandt.

Welsh support for Macca


Paul McCartney has chosen not one, but two Welsh acts to support him at his forthcoming Millennium Stadium gig in Cardiff on Saturday 26th June. The Manic Street Preachers will be joined by the excellent Joy Formidable and should make this one of the biggest and best gigs in Wales this summer.

Arise John Cale OBE


Legendary Welsh musician John Cale has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's birthday honours list. Cale who is 68 was a founding member of the Velvet Underground and has had a solo career for over 40 years. In 2009 he represented Wales at the Venice Biennale art event. John Cale we salute you!

Stuart Cable Found Dead


Stuart Cable former Stereophonics drummer has been found dead at his home near Aberdare. Cable left the Stereophonics in 2003 and went on to form his own band Killing for Company as well as presenting for Radio Wales. Cable had just celebrated his 40th birthday in May.

Manics Album & Tour Announced


The Manic Street Preachers have announced the release of their 10th album 'Postcards From a Young Man' and a 22 date tour including a Welsh date at the Newport Centre on Saturday 23rd October. The album is released in September and tickets go on sale 4th June.

Guitar Legend @ the Globe


Guitar legend Robin Trower, who came to prominance with Procol Harum in the 1960s and then by fronting his own power trio in the 1970s, will be making a return to Cardiff when he plays the Globe 8th September. This is likely to sell out so you are advised to get your tickets early.
